The Spirit of St. Louis

The mind plays tricks when your awake long enough to cross the Atlantic in a single-engine piston aircraft. This was a really trippy (pun) book. Lindbergh had a knack for writing static descriptions which he used to detail his own thoughts and perceptions. This is definitely good diary style writing for pilots to read. I found it very entertaining. Ghosts in the instrument panel, his near conversation with a housefly, icebergs as clouds or landing strips. . . It's brainbaked.

i enjoyed your comments about The Spirit of St. Louis. There was an article on Lindburgh in todays Star & Tribune. Made me want to visit the house in LIttle Falls again. Haven’t seen it since I was a kid in the 60’s
